As a practice, Freehaus have been practical, perceptive and responsive to our
diverse needs and communities and a pleasure to work with”
Oba Nsugbe KC, Chair of The Africa Centre
We architect fairly, to shape real lives.
This is our call to action. By using ‘architect’ as a verb we imply purposeful action and this is an ethos we carry across all our projects and working methodologies.
The places we design are anchored to their location, and authentic to both their people and context. We ‘architect’ them with empathy and, through challenge, facilitation and tenacity, are able to conjure more out of the sum of their parts, bringing value far beyond the boundaries of the site. Our buildings are made to last: they are clearly configured, and in turn reconfigurable, to extend their social, environmental and heritage value. They are put together with care and economy, and refined through detail and craft.
Freehaus is an award-winning RIBA Chartered practice based in London and Oxfordshire. We seek to demonstrate the positive impact good design can have; not only on the way we live but also on the way we interact with each other and the world around us. With a background in architecture we also have specialisms in sustainability, heritage and community-led design, we work at all scales and across a breadth of sectors.
